I can’t run long distance. I’ve always known that.
And yet when my track coach goes, “Everyone who wants to try the mile, get over here!” I jogged over, thinking, I’ll try it.
GOSH KAYTLIN NEVER TRY ANYTHING YOU’VE ALREADY TRIED. For one, it just doesn’t make sense. For two, it hurts.
We ran the 1400, which is 200 meters short of a mile. I finished in just under 6 minutes, 5:50. I think that was pretty good. My coach yelled, “Nailin’ it, insert-last-name-here!” about every ten seconds and whistled when I finished, so I think I did okay. Maybe.
I kinda hope not, because after I finished I was coughing like some chain smoker with 20 years of emphysema and about to pass out like some diabetic who just ate a pan of rice crispie treats. Maybe that’s over exaggerating, but honestly. Ugh. I am still coughing and my chest and lungs hurt so bad.
If I have to run that at a meet…ew :(
Before practice I had to go get my physical doctor-sports-check thing, and I passed it fine (obviously) except she almost didn’t pass my eyes. I have 20/20 in my right eye, and 20/200 in my left. I couldn’t even see the big E on the chart with my left eye. I kept saying, “I know that’s an E, but…” and the lady laughed at me.
I do not want glasses. I can’t stand anything on my face. And I won’t be able to stand contacts, because I can’t even handle eyedrops. I couldn’t handle eyeliner for the longest time.
So pretty much, I’m done for.

My future seems dimmer by the day :(
(just kidding.)
